Update on Refrigerants
The December 30th edition for the Air Conditioning/Heating/Refrigeration NEWS contained an article on the EPA's proposed final rule on R-22 Phaseout. The article included comments from some of the larger refrigerant producers. The EPA's proposed rule shows a reduction in R-22 allocations starting in 2015 of 30 million pounds (a 21 million pound reduction from 2014) with a 6 million pound a year reduction thru 2019. Based on the article, there is currently an industry surplus of R-22 and the proposed rule should not significantly impact the availability of R-22 thru 2019.

In January 2013 CTS Services relocated to a new 25,000 square feet state of the art stand alone building in the Indian Creek Technology Park in Beltsville, Maryland. Our new facility was necessary to support our continued growth and to allow us to expand our NOC (National Operations Center) to accommodate our expanded service offerings. The build-out of our new facility provided us with the opportunity to incorporate new technologies and to address several of our key needs.
Our HVAC system includes two (2) High Efficiency Daiken VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems consisting of twenty eight (28) indoor units supported by two (2) outdoor heat pumps. It is a three (3) pipe system and was installed with aluminum tubing and RefLoc fittings. On the power side, we have a 230 kW diesel generator and associated transfer switches and UPS system to ensure that we are here when you need us, good weather or bad.
We have a new NOC (National Operations Center), designed to support our current and future growth needs. It is equipped with several large LCD monitors connected to a database that allows our operators to track our service fleet and dispatch our technicians based on GPS location within the Baltimore/ Washington/ Northern Virginia areas, ensuring the fastest response possible in support of your next HVAC need, as well as staying up to date on current events which allows us the opportunity to provide advance planning in case of severe weather or any other events that may interrupt our customers operation. We incorporated a 1,100 square foot Training Center as well as several HVAC and Electrical Training Units to allow for continuing education of our service and installation technicians. We also utilize the Training Center for monthly Lunch-N- Learns for our customers covering current and future equipment and trends in the HVAC market.
In the near future, we anticipate hosting an Open House for our customers but in the mean time, feel free to contact us and coordinate a site visit.
